Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, is a music producer and the head of Mavin Records.
He says that he made six of the songs on Billboard’s list of the 50 best Afrobeats songs of all time.
The compilation, which came out earlier this week, focused on some of the biggest songs that made Afrobeats popular all over the world.
The producer celebrated his recognition on Thursday by posting about it on his X account.
He wrote, “Inside the 50, I shall produce 6.” I try, but I don’t try.
Billboard says that Don Jazzy worked on Wande Coal’s “Bumper 2 Bumper“, D’banj’s “Oliver Twist” and “Fall In Love“, Tiwa Savage’s “Eminado“, and the Mavin all-star smash “Dorobucci“.
Don Jazzy has the most production credits on the list, with six tracks.
This record shows how important he has been to the creation of the Afrobeats genre.
The 41-year-old has helped many Nigerian singers, such as D’banj, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, with their careers. He has also turned Mavin Records into one of Africa’s best record labels.
