Osarobo Odigie is suing TikToker Peller for ₦395 million, claiming that the viral lounge video hurt his reputation, invaded his privacy, and harassed him online.
A woman named Osarobo Osarenoma Odigie has requested ₦395 million in damages from well-known TikTok content creator Peller, alleging defamation, cyber harassment, and invasion of privacy related to an incident that occurred at a lounge in Lagos.
The incident is said to have taken place on January 6, 2026, at Folixxx Lounge located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos. As per her legal representatives, the conflict arose after the TikToker purportedly shared a video of Odigie at the lounge counter during her attempt to buy food.
In the video circulated online, Peller is said to have referred to her as a “hater” after she purportedly commented on his volume at the venue.
In a letter dated March 10 and issued by her legal representatives, Odigie asserted that the video and accompanying remarks were defamatory and had exposed her to significant ridicule online.
“The outcome of your actions, specifically the false and defamatory statements along with the violation of her privacy and right to be forgotten, has resulted in our client facing public ridicule both online and offline,” the letter states in part.
The legal team asserted that the dissemination of the video on various social media platforms had incited harassment and threats from the public.
“She has faced unwarranted harassment, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking from members of the public, all driven by your derogatory comments about her.”
“Our client has experienced considerable emotional distress and has developed legitimate concerns for her safety.
Without waiving our client’s right to initiate legal action and pursue all available remedies under the law, we have her explicit instructions to assert that all statements and expressions made against her (whether written, oral, or otherwise published), regardless of whether they are specifically mentioned in this letter, are false, malicious, and highly defamatory.”
Odigie is requesting that the TikTok creator promptly cease any further comments regarding her and permanently remove the video from all social media platforms.
Her legal representatives also requested that Peller ensure the removal of the video from the platforms of bloggers and other websites that have reposted it.
Furthermore, the letter requested that he provide a public apology on all his social media platforms and publish a retraction in two national newspapers, The Punch and The Guardian, while advising his followers to avoid any harassment or threats towards her.
The letter detailed financial demands amounting to ₦395 million, which includes ₦200 million for purported defamatory publications, ₦100 million for emotional distress and reputational harm, ₦75 million for harassment allegedly caused by the viral video, and ₦20 million for legal fees owed to FA Garrick & Co..
Her legal representatives cautioned that non-compliance with the requests within seven days would lead to prompt legal proceedings.
“Please be advised that if you do not comply with the aforementioned demands within seven (7) days of receiving this letter, our client will proceed to initiate legal action against you without any further notice.”
