Dr. Amah M. Williams, PhD, has been appointed as the Head of Department, History and International Studies, Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU). He said the appointment represents a new chapter in his academic career and places him in a leadership position within a department dedicated to historical scholarship, research and the study of international affairs.
Dr. Williams is an academic with research interests including diplomatic history, international relations, peace and conflict studies and development studies. His academic profile represents a multidisciplinary approach to the understanding of history, diplomacy and political and social dynamics that affect the relations among nations development. His academic background and research interests are well aligned with the core disciplines of History and International Studies.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Williams has been involved in peace and conflict research through his position at the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, Akwa Ibom State University. These fields continue to be essential to the advancement of teaching, research, and public understanding in the social sciences and humanities.
